MAKE AN IMPACT

For this program we need 10 skateboard mentors/coaches to work with these exceptional athletes. Each mentor will be partnered with an athlete to work with and befriend throughout the program. If you are interested please fill out the application below and we will be in touch.

Accountability and motivation are key factors to progressing in any new skill. We have designed print off sheets for the athletes to use on a weekley basis to track hours practicing, motivation, weekly schedule, and more.

EVENT/WORKSHOP DETAILS

On February 19th we will meet at the 180 House in SRQ. At our first workshop we will find a great mentor for each athlete. After matching the athletes with their mentor we will teach verbal cues and beginner skill work. This will give our coaches and mentors a good idea on where each athletes comfort level is moving forward.

Beginner skill work: Finding their stance, teaching weight distribution, perfecting the push and turning left to right.

Workshop Layout

2-2:30pm: Meet at 180 House and meet your mentor/coach.

2:30-3pm: Figure out which stance is most comfortable and have them balance on the board comfortably.

3-4:30pm: Start beginner skill work and make notes on where each athlete is so we can give them proper homework to do at home.

4:30-5pm: Hangout, have snacks, and work on questions and communication between skaters and mentors.

On April 9th we will meet at the 180 House in SRQ for our second workshop. At the beginning of the workshop we will quickly review what we did in the last workshop and see if they've been practicing on their own. The goal of this workshop is to perfect beginner skills and see if they can execute them with control and off of verbal cues only.
 
Then we will demonstrate and teach 2 new skills they can take home with them to practice until the next workshop.

3:30-4:30pm: Demonstrate and teach new skills that they can practice.

4:30-5pm: Hangout, have snacks, and work on questions and communication between skaters and mentors.
